The watchmaker Moritz Grossmann presents its second watch line at the ATUM. 
The creator god Atum, a figure of ancient Egyptian mythology, is the inspiration for the second watch line from the young Glashütter manufactory. At the first glance, the ATUM hand-held watchmaker demonstrates sophisticated technology and know-how in the highest perfection. With the ATUM the time takes shape in the form of noble materials and traditional craftsmanship.
The precise functionality of the ATUM comes into its own in a finely balanced aesthetic. The movement is embedded in a three-part case made of precious metal with a narrow bezel. On the dial made of solid silver, distinguished indexes with polished bevels stand out clearly. In the solid dial, the small second is screwed inwards above the "6", so that the hands move near the finely detailed minutiae.
The hand-crafted hand-crafted handcrafts - a rarity in modern watchmaking - have a lance shape matching the indices and a pronounced physicality due to wide bevels. To make their tips particularly long and fine, the hands are extensively tempered and ground. Depending on the dial, a color is chosen for the hands, Which gives the basic color of the sheet the maximum contrast: Steel silvers hands made of stainless steel for the dark dials or over the fire edged steel pointer for all light leaves. When the hands are started, the exceptional brown color in a short time window will be precisely matched to the second.
Particular attention is paid to the ATUM movement, which has been optimized for ease of handling and functional safety.

Movement Caliber 100.1
The movement caliber 100.1 of the ATUM is characterized by the generous sight base made of sapphire glass, which is anti-reflective on one side. The pier with well-proportioned components made of natural nickel silver with different finissage forms different levels. The signet is engraved by hand on the characteristic 2/3-board with wide, horizontal strips. The new Grossmann's balance is visible for the first time in the arched circuit board, supported by the stepped, hand-engraved balance cock with the typical fine regulating screw. The Grossmann's balance
The newly designed oscillating system is being implemented for the first time in the movement caliber 100.1. The ingenious design of the Grossmann's balance makes it possible to optimally adjust the moment of inertia in the production of craftsmanship, and to achieve a high degree of movement with a minimum of air resistance and as small a mass as possible. The number of unscrewed screws has been reduced to a minimum and has been distributed with evenly distributed bores. The mass can then be adjusted and the moment of inertia can be varied using over-sized screws with different head heights and the holes. The cylindrical, smooth balance shaft is fitted in the unbalance and can be easily replaced if necessary. The Grossmann's balance works with a Nivarox 1 spiral,
The Grossmann manual lift with handle
The high demands on a hand lift watch are met by the Grossmann watchmakers with a greater handling and functional safety. The Grossmann hand-operated lever with push-button system incorporates a perfected pointer mechanism which eliminates two possible sources of error: the penetration of foreign particles into the housing during the adjustment process, as well as an unwanted adjustment of the hands when the elevator crown is pushed back.
After a short pull at the elevator crown, the mechanism switches to the pointer setting and stops the movement at the same time. The elevator crown immediately returns to its initial position, in which the hands can now be precisely adjusted. The movement is then restarted via the pusher below the elevator crown without moving it again. Thus, the mechanism is simultaneously reset to its elevator function.
A modified glash nut locking mechanism ensures the tension of the tension spring. After the elevator movement, the ratchet wheel allows to go back and relax the tension spring easily. The Grossmann watchmakers realize this return in an optimized, space-saving design from the movement Caliber 100.1 in the ATUM. The ratchet is seated on a lever, which can be pivoted about the center of the spring housing, which allows the release movement.
